Dozer Day 2023 – Where Kids Drive!

Imagine if there was a place where kids could jump on a piece of heavy construction equipment and literally dig in the dirt all day?  All within the safety and supervision of expert operators AND while staying clean!?

Dozer Day is just that.  It’s like going to a massive playground, only the equipment is real heavy construction equipment. Kids hop in the operator’s seat and actually operate dozers, excavators and other heavy equipment with a professional operator at their side. Not only is it a dream-come-true for kids (and fun for the whole family), the event benefits local children’s charities, including Children’s Village in Coeur d’Alene and Communities in Schools, based in Spokane.

Dozer Day is an annual community event hosted by the excavation industry to give kids an opportunity to operate heavy construction equipment and enjoy other excavation-related activities.

“We’re a nonprofit trade organization that supports the excavation industry,” said Executive Director Sheri Nowlan. “We do a lot of training and safety. The event supports our foundation and we also give back to the community.”  Excavation work is among the most dangerous in the construction industry. National Utility Contractors provides industry training, advocacy and workforce development opportunities.

Dozer Days is taking place on Saturday and Sunday, May 6 – 7, 2023 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm at Cabela’s, 101 N. Cabela Way, in Post Falls.  Professional equipment operators will accompany drivers and kids receive their very own safety vests!  Participants also receive keepsake miniature hard hats.

For children 2 to 12 tickets are $10 online or $13 at the door, adults are $13 or $16 at the door. Military and senior discounts are available.
