Attention Parents and CaregiversApples iOS18 in now available today in both Canada and the USA – one function that parents and caregivers should be aware of - this new update allows the user (including youth & teens) to hide any app from parents and caregivers. support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/iphone/iph00f208d05/ios Yes, youth have been doing this for a while now, but this new update makes it way easier. Remember, the iPhone was never developed for youth or younger teens, it is an adult designed phone.NOTE - There are some good reasons why an adult may want to use this function, like hiding an app that will help them in planning to leaving an abusive spouse. However, we believe this function will be misused by youth and teens who have iOS18 installed to hide things form parents and caregivers – just saying!NOTE#2 - Children under 13 in a Family Sharing group can’t lock or hide apps. Anyone aged 13 to 17 in a Family Sharing group can lock or hide an app, but a parent or guardian in the family group can see that the app was downloaded and how much time it’s used, and restrict access to it using Screen Time.
