National Guard Armory Open House @ Army National Guard Armory

The Idaho Army National Guard is hosting an open house!

Visitors will be able to interact with local Guardsmen and their equipment, from trucks to state-of-the-art training simulators and armament. In addition to learning how the National Guard trains to serve the community and defend the nation, participants can also find out about the benefits of service in the National Guard, from money for education and on-the-job training to paid travel and up to $20,000 in enlistment bonuses.

A free lunch catered by Franko’s Dog House will be provided 11am-1pm, while supplies last.

The Museum of North Idaho is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the feature exhibit “Keeping History Alive”. The exhibit showcases some of the Museum’s favorite artifacts and the importance of collecting and preserving our region’s history. The exhibit will run April 3 through October 31st, Tue-Sat. The Museum will offer free admission on the 2nd Friday of each month from 5pm to 8pm as part of Art Walk.

Hydroplane History Double Feature @ Hayden Discount Cinema

The special Hydro History Day will feature two screenings of the Hollywood theatrical release “Madison” and a special documentary short film “The Roaring Giants.” The showings of the two films will take place at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and will be preceded by a special presentation about the filming of Madison by David Williams, executive director of the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum in Kent, Washington. This is a fundraiser for the Museum of North Idaho.

Ticket outlets include the Museum of North Idaho, the Nickel’s Worth publishing office, Adventure Outdoors, Inc. of Coeur d’Alene, and Hayden Discount Cinema. Only 150 General Admission tickets are $15 and a limited number of VIP tickets at $150 will be sold for each showing. Checks can be mailed to PO BOX 812, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83816-0812 and tickets will be mailed.
