Fair Trade Sale is returning to Trinity Lutheran
The 14th Annual Fair Trade Sale is returning to Trinity Lutheran on Saturday, December 1, AND Sunday, December 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days. Free admission.
Fair trade items are artful crafts made by people in developing countries around the world. When you support fair trade, artisans receive a fair price for what they have made. Because of fair trade, many people are able to provide food, education, and medical attention for their families. Many of our products for this year’s sale come through Lutheran World Relief.
LWR uses the money they receive from the sale to help people around the world on our behalf. What can you do to help??? (ANY or ALL of the following would be a GREAT help!):
> Donate paper shopping bags and Christmas gift bags for the sale.
> Donate fruit, cookies/bars to provide a welcoming and hospitable area for those who shop and may be coming to Trinity for the first time.
> Tell your friends, family, and co-workers about this event, noting that the proceeds of the sale go to help those in need around the world. This is not a fund-raiser for us, but one of our many ways we reach out to the world.
> Offer to hang up posters where you work and places you frequent. (Leave a message for Kelsey Cordes-Snyder, (208) 661-3795, if you can do this.)
> Come and SHOP the days of the sale!
If you have questions, ideas, and more, please contact Kelsey Cordes-Snyder at (208) 661-3795.

Last year was so fun, let’s do it again!
It’s that time of the year… parties, too much food and drink, and of course ugly Christmas sweaters! Trail Maniacs would like to combine those time honored traditions AND we’ll even throw in a little help for those less fortunate. We are having an Ugly Sweater run. This event is free, but we are accepting gently used jackets, coats, sweaters and blankets for those in need.
Starting at the St. Vincent parking lot at 201 E Harrison Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814. We will run 3 to 4 mile (route will depend on weather conditions). Route will most likely include 2nd Street to Tubbs Hill and back, we will finish at Daft Badger. Daft Badger Brewing will have refreshments and a contest for best dressed runner! Voting will start at Daft Badger at 12:00 pm. We will update prizes, but we will have a prize for overall male and female best ugly sweater! Best of all Daft Badger will be offering $1.00 off pints for anyone wearing an ugly sweater!

“Where, after all, do universal human rights begin? In small places, close to home — so close and so small that they cannot be seen on any maps of the world. […] Unless these rights have meaning there, they have little meaning anywhere. Without concerted citizen action to uphold them close to home, we shall look in vain for progress in the larger world.” — Eleanor Roosevelt

Our $10 bag sale for charity has come upon us once again. Together with the help of our generous customers who have marked to donate the remaining clothes that we could not buy from them to this sale, have found a way to give back to our community. The sale is crazy but wonderful and you will not want to miss it. We provide a kitchen size garbage bag for you to stuff with a gymnasium full of clothing, shoes and accessories and each bag is only $10 cash. If you want to get in a half hour early it will cost you a $20 cash donation at the door to get in at 4:30pm, however that does not include the cost to your stuff to bag. All profits go to local charities as we have raised tens of thousands over the past eight years. We will try to donate at least $1000 to the Boys and Girls Club and then we will soon decide the other recipients. SOME ADVICE…Please try to leave small children at home, where comfy clothes as you will be sorting through piles on the floor, and do not bring things that you might lose or that might get stuffed into someone else’s bag.
