The AS2 pop-up gallery presents the unveiling of two new murals from Spokane artist and sculptor Daniel Lopez. Please join us at the Wonder Building as we experience Daniel’s larger-than-life and colorful paintings.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Daniel Lopez – Spokane, WA
Daniel Lopez has been a successful artist for well over twenty years and has been consistently producing art for even longer. He received his BFA degree in painting and drawing at Eastern Washington University in 1991 and his MFA in painting and sculpture at the University of New Orleans in 1994.
He comes from a long-standing tradition of graffiti art that he has always been rooted in. Many of his larger murals are done via spray paint, but even his acrylic and oil-based works share many of the hallmark features of that particular style. Blurry lines and soft edges (which Lopez himself describes as “perfectly incorrect”) create a fuzzy distorted image that’s simultaneously warm without sacrificing any of the pieces context.
Daniel’s work is available from his studio or at the Northwest MAC Rental Gallery. His work has been exhibited nationally and is in several collections throughout the United States, including New Orleans, Utah, Missouri, California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
We will be hosting St. Vinny’s 7th Annual Fashion Show in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
