From Bach to ROCK @ North Idaho College, Schuler Performing Arts Center

Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy will present “From Bach to ROCK!”, the 2017 season finale concert at the NIC Schuler Performing Arts Center on May 23 at 6pm. The community is invited and encouraged to attend what promises to be an impressive program. Performances will include all Charter Orchestra and Band students, including the talented and popular Jazz Band, Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, and will feature a wide range of music and showmanship. Admission is free and open to the public. Limited Center Orchestra and Lower Balcony seats will be available for purchase at www.CdACharter.org beginning April 9, 2018.

The North Idaho Family Group (NIFG) is an Idaho 501(c)3 non profit. It is a membership and program driven group whose mission is Healthy Families and Life Long Learning. NIFG is a backbone organization that will produce the annual Family Day in the Parks event in the spirit of the former collaborative, nonprofit based, Kids Day in the Park with a greatly expanded venue, schedule of events, audience and opportunities.

The event will give families a last day of school activity that is free to the public and lasts until after dark.

Libraries Rock! with Muckle Roe @ Coeur d'Alene Public Library

Each Monday during the summer of 2018, the Coeur d’Alene Library presents a different genre of live music for you to enjoy from 5-7 pm. Bring a picnic and and chair!
June 25th, enjoy tunes from the Shetland Isles by Muckle Roe.The name of the band, “Muckle Roe,” is named for 1 of the 16 islands of Shetland that is inhabited, out of some 100 islands. The Shetland Islands, which lie in far Northern Scotland, has it’s colorful history heavily influenced by both Scandinavia (particularly Norway), and mainland Scotland. The band is comprised of 8 members playing fiddles, guitar, cello, accordion and piano. Two of the members, Carla Carnegie and Arvid Lundin, are cousins whose grandparents immigrated from Sweden, and between their 2 families, Scandinavian and Celtic music have been mainstays of their musical diet. It is Muckle Roe’s pleasure to bring music to the audience, in which one can hear the influence of Norway, Sweden and Denmark, as well as Scotland.

Four Peace in Concert @ Coeur d'Alene Public Library

The Libraries Rock! Monday night concert series continues with Four Peace. Four Peace is based in North Idaho is an acoustic Americana band with overtones of bluegrass 60s folk-rock ,Celtic ,pop ,traditional fiddle Etc singing long time favorites like Gentle on my mind, mr. Bojangles ,Moondance .Four-Peace will then mix it up with steering Celtic fiddle Tunes, 19th century song like Arkansas traveler plus energetic and show stopping performance by bones Williamson playing the beautiful rattlin bones. Watching Bones play the Elk bones is worth the price. The rich sound of soft vocals, fiddle, stand up bass ,mandolin and guitar Four-Peace smoothly weaves through many different music Styles and eras that make for a wonderful evening of music.
Bring a picnic and enjoy the music outside on the park side of the library. In case of rain, concert will be moved indoors or to the pavilion.

GizMotion – Celebration of Creativity @ Coeur d 'Alene City Park

Celebrate creativity with Gizmo, Coeur d’Alene’s makerspace, with the fourth annual GizMotion on Saturday, July 7 in City Park. This free, family-friendly and fun event invites you to spend the day exploring art and technology, cheering on your favorite human-powered vehicles in the parade. Rather do than watch? Bring your bike or other non-motorized vehicle to the park and find out how to be in the parade yourself. In Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre’s staged reading, you have the opportunity to enjoy all the spine-tingling drama as a group of six strangers, lodging in Monkswell Manor, are stranded by a snowstorm. They learn that a murderer is among them, and before long, they begin to die. Can you guess who the murderer is?

2nd Annual CDA Warrior Challenge @ McEuen Park
