The North Idaho Family Group (NIFG) is an Idaho 501(c)3 non profit. It is a membership and program driven group whose mission is Healthy Families and Life Long Learning. NIFG is a backbone organization that will produce the annual Family Day in the Parks event in the spirit of the former collaborative, nonprofit based, Kids Day in the Park with a greatly expanded venue, schedule of events, audience and opportunities.
The event will give families a last day of school activity that is free to the public and lasts until after dark.

From the Ashes, An American Smoked and Fired Foods Adventure, will welcome nationally-recognized Pitmasters from the four corners of the United States as they gather in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to showcase the best of American barbecue. Using the large, custom-built culinary equipment that Settlers Creek is known for in the Pacific Northwest, Pitmasters from New York, Charleston and San Antonio will feature 2-3 featured proteins and specialty side dishes at their individual stations at the event. Brisket, whole hog, pork butt, ribs, traditional and not-so-traditional side dishes from these Carolina, Louisiana and Texas style pitmasters’ approaches are in the works for this summer celebration!
In addition to the pitmaster stations for sampling the various barbeque styles and accompaniments, the event will also feature area culinarians leading an “application station” where guests can discover other ways to put these primal cuts of smoked and fired foods to work in their home menu planning.
Regional craft beers and wines will be included from regional producers, as well as fun family activities and entertainment throughout the event.

Transportation & Parking
Guests will arrive at Camp Lutherhaven via CdA Cruise boat. The Coeur d’Alene resort will have complimentary valet parking for Boots & Pearls guests.
Check-in opens at 3:00 at the Boardwalk cruise boat launch.
The boat will depart the CdA Resort promptly at 3:30 pm.
The boat will return to the resort by approximately 9:30 pm.
Should you choose to drive, check-in will be open at the top of Camp Lutherhaven near the Chapel at 4:15 pm.
Support childhood cancer families in the Inland Northwest by attending the Anna Schindler Foundation’s memorial golf tournament. Great community event. Come have lunch and enjoy 45 different soups served and prepared by local businesses and organizations. All proceeds will support the St. Vincent de Paul North Idaho Winter Warming Centers. Donations will also be accepted at the event: blankets, sleeping bags, socks and sweatshirts.
