While disasters and emergencies affect everyone, their impact on people with disabilities is often compounded by factors such as reliance on electrical power, elevators, accessible transportation, exclusion from shelters, and accessible communication. By attending the free workshop, you can learn how to do a personal assessment, develop a concise emergency plan, assemble your “go bag”, and learn how to stay informed. Each participant will receive their own emergency supply starter kit. Anyone with a disability, their friends, family or caregivers is invited to attend.

Join us as we go back in time and take a walk through the village of Bethlehem as if it were the very first Christmas over 2000 years ago! Authentic food, activities for children, live animals, visit the shops, talk with the inn keepers, then see a live production about the night that Jesus was born. From the moment you come in you will feel as if you are apart of Bethlehem.
Stop at the first building to talk with the guard. He will explain what to expect as you visit Bethlehem, where to exchange your money for mites as well as what you can buy with your mites, and then direct you to the census taker.
Afterward when you are leaving Bethlehem, stop at the largest Giving Tree in the Northwest and pick up an ornament. Each ornament has a child in need from our local area and something they’ve requested for Christmas. Bring back your tag with the gift item to AutoSource from 9am to 7pm Monday through Saturday and they will deliver the gifts to each family or organization for Christmas. Please return gifts and tags by the final event on December 22nd.
This is a FREE non profit event benefitting local charities, organizations, and families in need. All cash proceeds from the events will be donated to CASA Court Appointed Special Advocates of North Idaho. Other charities and organizations include Spokane Children’s Hospital, Newby Ginnings, and Family Promise.
Bundle up and bring the whole family out to share the true meaning of Christmas with our community. Stop by for the interactive walk through Bethlehem between 4pm and 6pm and the production shortly after is from 6pm to around 6:30pm. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
The holiday season is a time to show our beloved animal companions just how much they mean to us and to reflect on the memory of loved ones no longer with us. Illuminate the Lights of Love trees by purchasing a white light in memory of or a red light in honor of your pet. Purchase as many lights as you like! Each light will be tagged with your pet’s name and your last name. Lights are continually added to the trees throughout the season. Stop by the Silver Lake Mall and find your tag. Just know you are helping all the animals who do not have a home for the holidays. They so appreciate the love, warmth, and comfort they receive at KHS because of your donation. Thank you. Click on this link to purchase your lights today! http://www.kootenaihumanesociety.com/donate/lights-of-love/
