Poetry Writing with Mark Anderson @ Emerge
Jan 24 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Fairy Tales and myths connect our personal stories to a shared, human story. In this workshop, we’ll be drawing upon the strength of these collective stories to investigate our own personal histories. We’ll start off by reading some examples of great poems before talking about what makes a good poem and learning strategies to help write our own. On the second day of the workshop we’ll learn more about editing to put the final polish on our poems, and we’ll practice reading and delivery. Students will leave with knowledge on how to write and edit poems, how to seek out inspiration in unlikely places, and how to get involved in their literary community. Twelve years of age and up.

Free – Sponsored by the CDA Arts Commission
This is a two part class: January 24th and 25th: 6:00 – 8:00 PM

We want to make our skate park a place as diverse and exciting as the community of people it serves. A place to gather, learn, build confidence and resilience. To encourage them to push to their full potential and take risks.

Join us for an event like nothing you have ever attended.

A night of food, fun and games to benefit the skatepark. Help us raise the funds needed to include the $150,000 bowl and make this skate park the truly amazing place we know it can be. Skate parks can change lives. Let’s make the CDA skate park as amazing as our city.
