Cardboard Box City Coming Friday, September 22nd
We believe kids should not sleep in boxes (because they have to), cars or even couch surf!
You transform lives by taking part in CBC Come sleep in a box or sponsor someone who will!
Construction of the city will be at Community United Methodist Church. This is a one night event at 1470 W. Hanley, CdA.
Registration begins at Registration: 3 PM Friday, Sept 22. The event goes until 8 AM Saturday, September 23, 2017.

- Work to pay your ‘rent’ by collecting pledges/donations to be a resident of the Cardboard Box City.
- Set a goal $25, $100, or as high as $1000 (it can and has been done).
- Supply, create, and decorate a home of cardboard to sleep in. (This is where it gets fun!)
- Experience one night of homelessness in the elements. Rain or shine, the event will take place.
- Enjoy a ‘Soup Line’ dinner, continental breakfast, contests, prizes, and the gift of helping others.

- Coeur d’Fondo will showcase beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene and the forest, roads and scenery along Idaho’s Scenic Byway; Highway 97, passing through the communities of Harrison and St. Maries; before finishing back in Coeur d’Alene at the fall Oktoberfest in downtown Coeur d’Alene.

FREE The second annual “End-of-Summer Fun Fest” hosted by The Vine Church on Saturday, September 23rd, from 10:00-2:00 at Bluegrass Park in Coeur d’Alene. Bounce houses, inflatable slide, balloon twister, face painting, games, food, yummy treats, free prizes, and more. The entire community is invited to celebrate the end of summer.
Join us on Saturday, September 23rd from 11am-2pm at CDA City Park under the picnic shelter to Celebrate National Recovery Month and raise support for The Kootenai Recovery Community Center. Enjoy a BBQ, Live Music by NorthWest Skyes along with guest performances by hip hop artists JAWBO and Hercules Gaines and fun activities for the whole family!
Our 11th Annual “Night in Black & White” Auction & Dinner will be held on Saturday, September 23rd at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. This exciting event will gather civic and business leaders and hundreds of community members for an evening of silent and live auctions and a chance to mix and mingle with Club supporters over delectable hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and a delicious dinner. This event is our biggest fundraiser of the year. The money raised helps to ensure we can continue to enhance and expand our programs to the youth of our community.
North Idaho College will honor the memory of former student Brian Williams with the eighth annual memorial bike ride at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, beginning at the Slate Creek Brewing Co. at 1710 N 4th Street in Coeur d’Alene.
Williams was 28 years old when he was killed in a plane crash in 2010 while flying over Glacier National Park. He participated in NIC Outdoor Pursuits trips and was involved in a variety of outdoor programs offered through the college. Proceeds will benefit the Brian Williams Memorial Scholarship, which was established to support students studying outdoor leadership at NIC.
The poker ride is appropriate for riders of all ages and will include prizes for the best (and worst) hand at the end of the ride. The event will also include live music from the band “Broken Mantel,” door prizes, and a barbecue from 3 to 6 p.m. at Slate Creek Brewing Co. A $25 donation covers the barbecue, live music, long-sleeve T-shirt and poker ride entry. Participants who don’t want to ride are encouraged to come to the brewery for the other events.

Local Talent Variety Show benefiting The Community Action Partnership Food Bank and its drive to provide the makings for 1600 Thanksgiving Dinners to Local Families. The 6th Annual Crosstoberfest is a fund raiser for Team Autism. The weekend features cyclocross bike races, food, beer, and music. Fun spectator event. Racing is open to anyone who wants to try. A kids walk ride on Saturday at Noon. Part of the Wid West Cx Series.
This is a FREE event for anyone with mental and or physical disabilities of all ages. The purpose of our events is to show those with Special Needs that they are loved, cared for, accepted and can do things many say they cannot do. No horse or rodeo experience required to participate or volunteer. And yes, volunteers are needed! Come help the Special Needs community discover abilities they didn’t know they had!
*Note* Siblings will not be considered participants and be able to receive the free items handed out. But if time and resources allow they can take part in the activities. We encourage you to bring the whole family to help cheer on the participants and help others see just how capable they “disabled” are.

Part 1- Pre-Season Skill Building Class
Be part of the First Robotic Competition (FRC). Build a 5 foot 120 LB robot that can do things drive, pick up and climb. It’s as true to real-life, hands-on engineering as you can get.
This project is in two parts. During the Pre-season class (Sept-Dec) you will have the opportunity to learn how to design, do CAD, do electronics, build, fabricate, program, market and other skills that will be instrumental to the team during Once we hit build season (Part 2, Jan-March) the training is over and we strategize and build an awesome robot for competition.

Stomp Out ALS on Saturday, October 7th! Join us for a fun fall harvest festival! HarvestFest 2017 will benefit Matt’s Place Foundation, which provides housing and support for people with ALS and their families during their battle with ALS. Its ultimate intention is to provide hope, housing and assistance to families dealing with the ailments of motor neuron disease like ALS.
Watch the mayors of CDA, Hayden and Dalton Gardens compete in a grape-stomping contest, enjoy local wines, microbrews and ciders. We will have traditional Bavarian food options for sale, along with live music by Ron Greene.
