Join us on Saturday, September 9th, for the ninth annual Break the Silence 5K walk, run, jog, (or however you roll), along the picturesque Centennial and Prairie Trails in remembrance of those lost to the completion of suicide; and in effort to raise awareness of this tragic event claiming the lives of loved ones.
The annual “Break the Silence” Walk begins at the beautiful Riverstone Park, a 10-acre park boasting a 60-foot fountain, nestled in the Village at Riverstone. On-site registration and check-in opens at 9:30 AM.
This year, walkers will start at Riverstone Park/Centennial Trail junction and travel west on the Centennial Trail to the Prairie Trail connection and head north. The “Break the Silence Loop” sign located at the halfway point of the walk will signify it’s tme to return to Riverstone Park, where light snacks will be waiting. The “Break the Silence” trail will be clearly marked so you won’t get lost!
Registrations that include the purchase of a 2017 Break the Silence t-shirt must be processed by August 21, 2017. BUT…. if you register after August 21st, or if you realize you really need the 2017 Break the Silence t-shirt in your wardrobe, they will be available for sale the day of the event.
**Suicide survivor resource information and crisis intervention information will be available.**
All proceeds benefit Suicide Prevention Action Network, Idaho.
10K • 5K • 1 mile.
Off of I90 take the CdA Northwest Blvd exit, turn south towards downtown. Turn right onto N Lakewood Dr, then right onto W Riverstone Dr, then left onto Beebe Blvd (across from Red Robin), Foundation Fitness is at the end of the road.
Relatively flat with some rolling hills. The course is an out and back course that starts and finishes at Foundation Fitness and goes towards Post Falls on the Centennial trail. The 1 mile course is around the pond in Riverstone.
Top three male and female in each age group will receive awards. Age groups are 15 & under, 16-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65-74, 75 & over. All participants will receive a finisher medal.
Go towards the 501c3 non-profite organization, Foundation Fitness. Their mission is to promote physical fitness and its benefits towards good health. The organzation will offer physical health training to the public at an affordable cost with various programs available at no charge for qualifying veterans, youth, and law enforcement.
Entry Cost Information:
$30 per person. $35 the day of race. This fee includes race entry and T-shirt. You are guaranteed a T-shirt if you sign up by September 1st. Race day registration will begin at 8am.
You can pick up your packet on Friday from 12-6pm, Saturday from 8am-2pm, & Sunday at 8am at Foundation Fitness
Mudgy and Millie birthday party starts off the Anniversary celebration at noon, in the Community Room.. There will be music in the park, bouncing houses, games, food and drink trucks. Books will also be given away to the children.

Trinity Lutheran Church with the guidance and help of many in the community is planning a Bicycle Safety Rodeo in mid-town Coeur d’Alene. This will be just 5 days after school starts and a great time to make sure your child is a safe rider.

The 3rd Annual PARK(ing) It On Sherman event is brought to you by the City of Coeur d’Alene and CDA 2030. This year the event will be on the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue. Construction of the city will be at Community United Methodist Church. This is a one night event at 1470 W. Hanley, CdA.
Registration begins at Registration: 3 PM Friday, Sept 22. The event goes until 8 AM Saturday, September 23, 2017.
