Coeur d’Con @ Coeur d'Alene Public Library

Coeur d’con is a comic convention celebrating books, movies, games, manga, comics, and all of the many avenues of geek culture. Entrance to the convention is free , with local businesses, artists, and experts exhibiting and selling their goods throughout the library, offering a plethora of unique wares and perspectives on pop culture.
This event is organized, and hosted, by the the staff (and volunteers) of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library. Staff and volunteers offer a variety of themed crafts, games and other activities, with events for every age group throughout the day. All library-led crafts and activities will be free for participants.

Panels, Fan Meetups, Artists, Vendors, Fan Art Competition, Cosplay contest, general Cosplay greatness, Crafts, Books, Everything!

10 year Anniversary of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library @ McEuen Park and the Library

Mudgy and Millie birthday party starts off the Anniversary celebration at noon, in the Community Room.. There will be music in the park, bouncing houses, games, food and drink trucks. Books will also be given away to the children.

Trinity Lutheran Church with the guidance and help of many in the community is planning a Bicycle Safety Rodeo in mid-town Coeur d’Alene. This will be just 5 days after school starts and a great time to make sure your child is a safe rider.

FREE The second annual “End-of-Summer Fun Fest” hosted by The Vine Church on Saturday, September 23rd, from 10:00-2:00 at Bluegrass Park in Coeur d’Alene. ​Part 1- Pre-Season Skill Building Class
Be part of the First Robotic Competition (FRC). Build a 5 foot 120 LB robot that can do things drive, pick up and climb. It’s as true to real-life, hands-on engineering as you can get.
This project is in two parts. During the Pre-season class (Sept-Dec) you will have the opportunity to learn how to design, do CAD, do electronics, build, fabricate, program, market and other skills that will be instrumental to the team during Once we hit build season (Part 2, Jan-March) the training is over and we strategize and build an awesome robot for competition.

Kootenai County Fire and Rescue and Santa are teaming up to collect food, toys and cash to help those in need this holiday season. Be looking for decorated fire engines coming through neighborhoods in Dalton Gardens and Post Falls on the evenings of December 5th and 6th. Barn Dance/Contradance Fundraiser @ Meadowbrook Hall

All dances will be taught by our caller, Susan Dankovich. No experience or partner required!
Wear comfortable clothing and no mark shoes. Contradancing is good exercise.
