VIRTUAL Spring Dash 2020 @ McEuen Park

38th Annual Spring Dash is a 5-mile run and qualifier for Bloomsday’s Second Seeding. The run will be held on April 18th with a start/finish in McEuen Park. Community Trash Pickup – Tentative new date: April 25 @ Coeur d'Alene Bike Co.

Can you believe it’s almost springtime? It’s a little crazy, right?

It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I invite you all to the first Community Garbage Cleanup of 2020! Come and join the Coeur d’Alene community in coming together for an excellent cause while kicking off the spring season in the best way. Our sponsors Coffee Roboto will be providing coffee, tea and hot cocoa to our volunteers while MaK Bread will have artisan toast with grass fed butter 😋. Come and meet us at Coeur d’Alene Bike Co. on Saturday, March 21st at 10:00am for treats and mingling before we start the official cleanup together at 11:00am. Feel free to bring bags, gloves, and be sure to wear some boots or appropriate footwear. Invite everyone you know!

Known as the “race with a view,” the Coeur d’Alene Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k and 5k Fun Run offer one of the most spectacular running events in the country. The race starts and finishes downtown in Coeur d’Alene in McEuen Park, located at Front Street and Fourth Avenue. The marathon is USATF Sanctioned and a Boston Marathon qualifier. Once a year we put together a fun family day which directly benefits the 11 elementary schools in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The event has a fun 5K, 1 mile fun run, kids obstacle course, food, music, games for the kids, huge raffle, and much more!!! We have raised over $125,000 for the schools!!! This is an event where the WHOLE family can be a part of!!! Help us raise money again this year by just being a part of it!!

Free Fishing Day – second Saturday every June @ Idaho Waters

Idaho’s Free Fishing Day is an annual event held the second Saturday every June. All anglers, residents and nonresidents, can celebrate the day by fishing Idaho’s waters without a license.

Scheduled Free Fishing Days Are:

  • June 8, 2019
  • June 13, 2020
  • June 12, 2021

If you’ve never been fishing, Free Fishing Day is also a great day to learn. Fish and Game personnel and volunteers set up several free events at local fishing waters throughout the state to help first-timers discover the joys of fishing.

There are a limited number of loaner rods and reels available to practice with but if you have your own equipment you are encouraged to bring it.

All other fishing rules and regulations including creel limits, opening dates and tackle restrictions remain in effect. Always check the seasons and rules for the water where you plan to go fishing.

In the summer of 2011 , friends gathered to play in Scott’s honor”, said Donna Wemple. “Scott and I lived on the 12th green and shared many memories on this course. My kids and I wanted to keep Scott’s memory alive and this tournament is a celebration of what he loved. The money raised at the first tournament helped me when I needed it most. Now, being able to hand over this tournament to CASA, an organization that is close to my heart, makes me feel good.

Money raised at the tournament will go towards  North Idaho CASA and the Scott Wemple Memorial Scholarship Fund at NIC, for students playing golf at the collegiate level.

We appreciate all who have supported this event in the past and look forward to seeing you again this year.  – The Wemple Family
